ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

B.Des

Age Limit: 20 years before 1st July of the admission year & 23 years for reserved category.
Educational Qualification: Passed 10+2 in any Stream from a recognized Board of Education like CBSE, ICSE, ISC, IB, SSC or equivalent Passed from Senior Secondary School Examination under the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), with a minimum of five subjects.
Note: 10+3 technical diploma holders are no longer eligible to apply.

M.Des

Age Limit: 30 years before 1st July of the admission year & 33 years for reserved category.
Educational Qualification: Candidate should have the given qualification fro any university or institute recognized by law in India before July of admission year:
a. Appeared for or Passed Bachelors degree in any discipline under 10+2+4 or more.
b. Appeared for or Passed a Diploma in Design under the 10+2+4 System.
c. Appeared for or Passed bachelor’s degree in any discipline under the 10+2+3 system, one year prior to admission year.
Note : Candidates appearing for their final year of bachelor’s in the 10+2+3 system, in the year of admission are no longer eligible to apply.


PHASE 1: Design Aptitute Test (DAT Prelims) Held in January

SECTION A Objective Questions 70 Marks
Section B Subjective Questions 30 Marks
3 Hours 100 Marks

NOTE : NID tests Candidates general knowledge, comprehension, Analytical thinking, Creativity, Visualization & Drawing & Design abilities The objective type questions are similar to those asked in Part Aofum UCEED/ CEDD. Refer to the previous page.

PHASE 2: Design Aptitude Test (DAT Mains) Held in April/May

Phase 2 is conducted only for the candidates who clear Phase 1
Studio test B.Des & M.Des Sketching, Hands-on model making, Observation Test, Group activity...
Interview & Porfolio Review M.Des Only However, all the other design schools conduct interviews for B.Des as well.
